Biography

Joshua grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with American Chemical Society Certification from the University of Virginia in 2021. His undergraduate research was conducted under Dr. Sen Zhang, where he primarily worked on producing palladium nanoparticle catalysts for electrochemical glycerol oxidation. While working in Dr. Zhang’s lab, he developed his interest in synthetic chemistry at the nanoscale. Joshua joined the Zeng lab in 2021, and his research interests are creating atomically precise nanoscale materials and utilizing them in green and sustainable chemistry applications.
